Putnam takes home best post-trade technology implementation of the year award
During the 14th Annual Mutual Fund Industry Awards held March 8 in New York City, Putnam Investments won the best post-trade technology implementation award. The awards, presented by the editors of Institutional Investor’s Fund Action and Fund Directions newsletters, are given annually to leaders across the mutual fund industry. This year’s awards ceremony included a new category: Best Post-trade Technology Implementation.
Putnam was honored for its successful implementation of Markit’s Trade Processing platform to automate the trade confirmation process associated with over-the-counter (OTC) derivatives. Putnam was the first mutual fund company to implement the product in a way that allowed for a significant increase in trading volumes while at the same time lowering the number of outstanding confirmations.
Diane Doering, operational risk manager, accepted the award on behalf of Putnam. Those involved with the technology implementation included representatives from the Middle Office, ISD and Legal and include: David Bate, Seshu Dasari, Sam Garg, Chris Moniz, Jeremy Brady, Bob Leveille, and Shirish Ranjit.
