{"id":1467,"date":"2017-02-08T19:49:44","date_gmt":"2017-02-09T00:49:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/shirishranjit.com\/blog1\/?page_id=1467"},"modified":"2017-02-08T19:53:10","modified_gmt":"2017-02-09T00:53:10","slug":"clearcase-unable-to-logon-to-clearquest-user-database","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/shirishranjit.com\/blog1\/technical-posts\/clearcase-unable-to-logon-to-clearquest-user-database","title":{"rendered":"Clearcase Unable to logon to ClearQuest user database"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you are trying to create an &#8216;Engineering&#8217; activities in the clearcase, it gives follow error:<\/p>\n<p>Unable to logon to ClearQuest user database &#8220;dbName&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Solution<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to\u00a0Start, Run\u00a0and type in\u00a0cmd<\/li>\n<li>Type in\u00a0set<br \/>\nThe output will be similar to the following:<br \/>\n<code><br \/>\n<tt>ATRIAHOME=C:\\Program Files\\Rational\\ClearCase<br \/>\nIBMLDAP_ALTHOME=C:\\Program Files\\Rational\\common\\codeset<br \/>\nPath=C:\\WINDOWS\\system32;&lt;...&gt;C:\\Program files\\Rational\\ClearCase\\bin;C:\\Program Files\\Rational\\common;<br \/>\n<\/tt><\/code><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If the above environment variables are not set correctly, you will need to run a repair on the installation for both ClearCase and ClearQuest.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Navigate to\u00a0Start &gt; Settings &gt; Control Panel &gt; Add or Remove Programs.<\/li>\n<li>Once\u00a0Add or Remove Programs\u00a0opens, in the list you should see\u00a0ClearQuest\u00a0and\u00a0ClearCase.<br \/>\nNote:\u00a0If you installed ClearQuest using the IBM Rational Suite\u00ae Install, then you may see\u00a0Rational Suite\u00a0in the Add\/Remove programs list instead.<\/li>\n<li>Select\u00a0Change\u00a0and then\u00a0Repair.<br \/>\nNote:\u00a0You will need to perform this repair for both ClearCase and ClearQuest.<\/li>\n<li>Once both ClearCase and ClearQuest are repaired, the missing environment paths should now be present.
